When creating unique dishes in Grillax Nation, it’s all about a really good marinade … and we think you’ll love our dark beer marinade. With seafood, you want to go light. With beef, you want to go heavy. With chicken … the sky’s the limit!
You will generally see the usual suspects when putting together your own marinade — salt, pepper, vinegar, etc. If you are looking to add a unique twist to your next marinade, pour in your favorite ale. But save some for the glass, too.
We suggest you give Abita Turbodog a try. It’s a dark brown ale brewed with pale, caramel, and chocolate malts and Willamette hops. This combination gives Turbodog a rich body, deep color and a sweet chocolate, toffee-like flavor.
The Beer Marinade
- 1/2 cup dark beer (We like Abita Turbodog)
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 Tbsp light olive oil
- 1 Tbsp Kosher salt
- 1 Tbsp white pepper
- 1 Tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 red onion, diced
Combine all ingredients and use as a marinade or grilling sauce.
