Have you ever had SPAM burgers?
Gavin with Grillax Kids saw a can of SPAM canned meat product in the supermarket and had to find out what it was.
“Meat from a can,” he asked. “This should be interesting.”
His choice was to fire up the grill and create a couple of patties and try the new-to-him meat product on buns as burgers. And since May is #BurgerMonth, it just may work out for him.
Matched with a little Rubbin’ Right Texas BBQ seasoning, he said it wasn’t bad.
The SPAM burger recipe is simple, as there isn’t much that can be done to the meat product to reform into anything but slabs or slices. Give it a try, if SPAM is your thing.
Spam Burgers
- 1 can SPAM canned meat product
- 2 Tbsp Rubbin’ Right All-Purpose BBQ Rub
- Hamburger buns
- Ketchup (optional)
Bring grill to medium-high heat. Remove SPAM from can and slice down the middle length-wise to create two SPAM patties. Liberally season with Rubbin’ Right rub.
- Place SPAM patties directly over the coals for 2-4 minutes. Flip to sear both sides.
- Remove SPAM from grill and place on bun with any condiments you desire.
- Eat immediately.
