The ultimate burger for adding to no-carb menus has to be our Keto Krazy Burger.
No bread bun on this massively flavorful burger, but a Bibb bun, making it Keto compliant and oh, so good for the taste buds.
Keto Krazy Burger
- 2-4 leaves Bibb Lettuce
- 1 pound Lean Ground Beef (90/10) or Ground Chicken
- Pimiento Cheese
- 1-2 Tomato Slices
- 1-2 Red Onion Rings
- 1/2 t Sea Salt
- 1 t Black Pepper
- 1 t Chili Powder
- 1 t Cumin Powder
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 1 t Garlic Powder
Combine ground beef or chicken with salt, pepper, chili and cumin. Mix well.
Mix mayonnaise with garlic powder and set aside.
Set up your grill for a hot fire leaving room for indirect grilling. A charcoal halo is perfect for burgers using this method. If using a kettle, set your bottom vent to 25 percent and the top vent wide open.
Place the patties on the outer edge of the fire for eight minutes. Flip the burgers and grill another eight minutes. Check the internal temp on each patty to make sure it’s at least 160 degrees Fahrenheit for beef, and 165 degrees Fahrenheit for chicken. A digital probe, such as the Thermapen ONE, is ideal for this step.
When internal temp is reached, place each patty over the hot coals for one minute per side to sear.
Build your Keto Krazy Burger
Get started creating your burger by adding garlic mayo to Bibb bun (lettuce leaves). Next, add a dollop of pimiento cheese to the Bibb bun. If you can create a circle of cheese, this works best for this burger.
Then place a grilled patty on the cheese. Top it off with grilled red onion, tomato, more mayonnaise and another Bibb bun.
Serve immediately with sweet potato fries.
Happy Grilling!
