Ultimate Tuna Steaks make one eat like a Great White

If you want to eat like a Great White shark, this Ultimate Tuna Steaks recipe is perfect off the grill.

As the Earth’s largest predatory fish, Great White sharks don’t eat often; but when they do, they eat well.

Because they may go days without eating, they prefer to find prey that is rich in nutrients and fat to keep them sustained, such as sea lions, turtles and ocean fish such as tuna.

This week, we’re eating like the Great Whites with Tropical Tuna Steaks, packing a punch with fatty acids and lean protein.

If you’ve never tried grilling tuna, don’t be scared. The consistency of the steaks are much like beef, and the flavor is easily manipulated by the marinade, which absorbs quickly.

Ultimate fish food

Tuna is also a very filling fish. With only 130 calories for a four-ounce serving, it’s packed with nearly 30 grams of protein.

When searching for perfection, get yourself a digital cooking thermometer, like the Thermapen, and sear the outside of the tuna and cook until 125 degrees internally.

Once you taste how good tuna steaks are off the grill, you’ll always be eager to light up the grill and take a bite out of these tasty steaks!

Tropical Tuna Steaks

This week, we’re eating like the Great Whites with Tropical Tuna Steaks, packing a punch with fatty acids and lean protein.

  • 4 tuna steaks, about 6 ounces each
  • 1/2 cup puréed pineapple
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon chile sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  1. To make marinade, combine all ingredients except tuna in a large bowl. Whisk until combined. Place tuna steaks into a plastic zipper bag. Pour in marinade and ensure all steaks are coated well. Refrigerate for one hour.
  2. Preheat grill to medium high heat. Remove steaks from marinade and place on grill for 4-5 minutes per side. You want your steaks to have a light sear on the outside, but remain slightly pink, with an internal temperature of 125 degrees for medium rare … which is perfect!

Happy Grilling!
